I cannot think about the South without visions of Magnolias. I was blessed with a huge 100 year old magnolia on the property where I am living. Magnolias are perfect for this part of the country. They like our sandy soil and are resistant to most diseases. It is one of the most beautiful shade trees you can plant in your yard.
